Medicare Part D Open Enrollment

Richard St. John |

Open enrollment for Medicare Part D is in full swing and will last until December 7th. Be aware that the CVS-Silverscript/Aetna-Wellcare situation has caused formularies to change, in some cases drastically. We recommend anyone on Medicare review the drugs their Part D plan will cover every year to be sure none have dropped out of your plan’s formulary. If you are new to Medicare, you have three months before your 65th birthday, the month of your birthday, and three months after to sign up. If you miss that window, you may need a Medicare Employer Verification Form, or other forms to get signed up and may be subject to penalties. For more information and to compare Medicare plans, go to www.medicare.gov or find a reputable Medicare insurance agent to help you.
